FREE PRESCRIPTION COLLECTION & DELIVERY SERVICEWe can order and collect your repeat prescriptions from your doctor’s surgery – Free of Charge! We also accept electronic prescriptions from your GP. Please let your GP know that you are nominating us as your chosen Pharmacy. We are pleased to offer the following services:
*A prescription charge may be payable if not eligible for free Prescriptions. We are now conducting individual Medicines Use Reviews. This involves a ten to fifteen minute consultation with our pharmacist. We can ensure that you are using your medicines correctly and are getting the best from them. We can arrange to collect your prescription from your doctor and deliver your medication directly to you. Please telephone the appropriate branch. We also provide a full pharmaceutical service from all our branches including the dispensing of private and NHS prescriptions. All of our branches stock the latest blood pressure monitors and TENS machines. We can arrange for a demonstration of these by appointment. Our pharmacists are all always pleased to advice you on all your health problems and either recommend the appropriate treatment or refer you to another health professional if necessary. A range of homoeopathic medicines is stocked as well as a range of chemist sundries. We are able to supply a range of disability aids. Please ask for a stock booklet. These items can be obtained usually within two days. We can supply in an emergency, prescription only medicines that you may be taking as prescribed by your doctor. A charge may be made for this service. Some of our branches also conduct cholesterol testing with coronary risk assessment. A small blood sample is taken for the test, and the results are available while you wait. A charge may be made for this service. Our Branch at Aston Pharmacy, 95 Accrington Road, Blackburn, are now conducting Free NHS Health Checks in conjunction with Blackburn with Darwen PCT. These tests are free for patients aged between 34 and 74 and registered with a GP in Blackburn. A small sample of blood is taken from your finger and analysed for Total Cholesterol and Blood Glucose level. Other appropriate measurements are taken such as weight and height to calculate your Health Risk. You will be offered appropriate advice on how to reduce your Health Risk. We may refer you to your GP if your Health Risk is above a certain value. |
