NHS Pharmacy First Service at Aston Pharmacy

At Aston Pharmacy, we’re proud to offer the new Pharmacy First service to help you get the care you need quickly and easily.
What is Pharmacy First?
Pharmacy First is an NHS service that means you can come straight to us for treatment for certain common health problems — without needing to book a GP appointment first.
This service builds on the NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service, which has been helping patients since 2019 with minor illnesses and urgent repeat medicines.
Since 31 January 2024, the service has been expanded, allowing pharmacies like ours to assess and treat 7 common conditions.
What Can We Treat?
Our trained pharmacists can provide advice and, where appropriate, supply prescription-only medicines for:

Earache

Sore throat

Sinusitis

Infected insect bites

Impetigo
-
Shingles
-
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
If needed, we’ll guide you on the right treatment — and if your symptoms require a GP or other healthcare professional, we’ll let you know.
