As the festive season draws near and we look back on 2025, all of us at Astons want to extend our warmest thanks to you — our patients, neighbours, and friends. It’s because of your trust in us to support your health and wellbeing that we wake up every day feeling motivated to do what we do best. Whether you’ve come in for advice, relied on us for your prescriptions, booked one of our clinical services, or simply stopped by for a friendly chat, thank you for choosing us and supporting us throughout the year.
This year has been a period of significant change and progress across pharmacy. Community pharmacies like ours have moved beyond traditional dispensing to become true healthcare hubs in your community. Thanks to the continued roll‑out and success of the Pharmacy First service, our team has been able to provide care for millions of patients with common ailments — such as sore throats, earaches, sinusitis and urinary tract infections — without the need for a GP appointment. Across England, community pharmacies have delivered over 5 million Pharmacy First consultations, ensuring patients get timely care and helping to ease pressure on GP surgeries and clinics.
By offering consultations, clinical advice, and even prescription treatment for these conditions at your local pharmacy, we are helping free up valuable GP appointments so doctors can focus on more complex and urgent cases. National bodies estimate that with further expansion, pharmacy services could potentially free up tens of millions of GP appointments each year, bringing real relief to overstretched primary care services.
Alongside Pharmacy First, this year has seen community pharmacies deliver more blood pressure checks, contraception services, medicine reviews and personalised support than ever before as services continue to expand under new NHS frameworks. These developments reflect a wider shift in how healthcare is delivered — from hospitals and GP surgeries into the heart of local communities — making support more accessible, convenient, and timely for patients like you.
At Astons, we’re proud to be part of this evolution. Many of our branches underwent refits and improvements in 2025, all with one goal in mind: to be more service‑driven and to offer care that saves you time, effort, and unnecessary waiting. We’ve also invested heavily in our teams — through training, recruitment, and new equipment — to ensure you’re being looked after by professional, confident staff who are deeply committed to your care.
We understand that times are still tough for many, with the cost of living continuing to affect households across the country. That’s why we’re excited to be launching our online shop in the coming year, featuring special buys and a convenient click‑and‑collect service, designed to offer value and ease alongside great healthcare.
Looking ahead to 2026, we are filled with optimism. We will continue to grow our services, expand what we can offer in‑branch and online, and stand by you as your local healthcare partner.
